As an aside, this was an interesting exercise to say the least.
ReplyDeleteAn attempt to create and upload an interactive PowerPoint (complete with an iMovie and Voki presentations) has resulted in a trial of multiple free software including Cam Studio and iSpringFree, and has come to fruition using the 30-day free trial versions of Adobe Captivate to record Voki as an MP4, and the Adobe Presenter 9 add-on for PowerPoint to embed these video files and then publish the PowerPoint as an interactive PDF file.
For anyone else considering this approach, the hyperlinks do not seem to work as well if published as a SWF file using the Adobe Presenter add-on. You also cannot simply embed the Voki or YouTube videos into the PowerPoint using their weblinks; you must have these saved as AVI or MP4 files on your computer and embed in this manner.
Adobe Captivate and Adobe Presenter were very simple to use and did not come with any major glitches, however they are costly, and I am unsure if I would be able to purchase these on a Student Teacher budget. Cam Studio was very temperamental and commenced recording immediately upon selecting an area to capture. iSpringFree is fine for a simple SWF file, however it did not enable any interactive functions.
Cheers,
Rachelle
